Aiyedatiwa urges Ondo women to promote Tinubu’s 2027 agenda

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has urged women in the state to promote President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at community level ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Aiyedatiwa spoke on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Ondo chapter of Tinubu Torch Bearers, a national women’s support group, in Akure. His deputy, Olayide Adelami, represented him at the event.

The governor described women as an important political force and asked the group to mobilise support for Tinubu. He said the message should be communicated “not through propaganda, but through facts, engagement and constructive dialogue”. Aiyedatiwa cited federal infrastructure and development initiatives, including road, rail, bridge and power projects and the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.

He also referred to the administration’s emphasis on local-government financial autonomy and programmes intended to bring development closer to communities. The governor said Ondo had benefited from collaboration with the Federal Government. He linked the federal policies and interventions to the state’s OUR EASE development agenda and described the group’s role as a commitment to the progress of the party, state and country.

His wife, Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, said the inauguration reflected support for Tinubu’s leadership and re-election bid. She characterised the 2027 contest as a choice about continuity. Mary Idele, the APC national women leader, also urged members to mobilise women across Ondo State for Tinubu.

She expressed confidence that the President would secure overwhelming support from Nigerian women. The event brought together members of the newly inaugurated state chapter and party representatives in support of Tinubu’s campaign ahead of the next presidential election.
