Amaechi challenges Tinubu administration to identify completed major project

ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has challenged President Bola Tinubu’s government to name a major infrastructure project completed during its tenure. Speaking on Channels Television, he compared the administration unfavourably with Muhammadu Buhari’s first term and also alleged that corruption was more visible under Tinubu.
African Democratic Congress vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has challenged the Federal Government to identify a major infrastructure project completed under President Bola Tinubu. Amaechi made the call on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today. He argued that the current administration had little to show in terms of project delivery and rejected comparisons with the first term of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He cited the Abuja-Kaduna railway, which he said had been completed by the time Buhari’s first term reached a similar stage. Amaechi asked the government to name a comparable railway or another major project completed under Tinubu. He also referred to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, saying he had heard that its projected cost was N33 trillion, or about $16 billion.
The source material does not include a response from the Federal Government to Amaechi’s claims or provide independent verification of the figures. Amaechi further alleged that corruption under Tinubu was worse than under Buhari. He said the difference was that corruption during the former administration was concealed, whereas he believed it was more apparent under the current government.
The former Rivers State governor was also asked about his own record as a minister under Buhari. He denied being corrupt and said he was waiting for anyone who could prove otherwise. Amaechi said he would not associate himself with corruption.
His comments were made as he campaigned for the ADC ahead of the 2027 election. The party’s vice-presidential candidate has separately criticised the Tinubu administration over economic hardship, electricity policy and what he described as inadequate governance. The report did not include a response from Tinubu’s government to the allegations concerning infrastructure delivery or corruption.
