Students were shown how to access district destination information by phone and were introduced to digital storytelling, short videos and multilingual tourism content.

Students at Araku Valley Women’s Degree College were introduced to digital tools and artificial intelligence during a tourism awareness session on Monday. The programme, titled “Digital Tourism – Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, was held as part of Tourism Week celebrations in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. District Tourism Officer Pattasi Chalapathi Rao explained how students could use the ASR District Tourism website to obtain information about destinations and tourism services.

A live demonstration showed participants how to scan a QR code with a mobile phone and access the website. The session presented the system as a way of connecting visitors with information about places to visit and available tourism-related services. The programme also covered the use of artificial intelligence and other digital tools to create tourism content.

Topics included short videos, digital storytelling and multilingual material. College Principal Kusuma Kumari welcomed the district administration’s initiative and its use of technology to promote tourism. The event formed part of wider Tourism Week activities in the district.

The source material does not specify the number of students who attended or identify any further digital tourism projects arising from the session.
