The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblems were briefly shown in a preview image on the Games’ official YouTube channel before their planned unveiling. The cockatoo-inspired designs were removed after appearing online, while an accompanying description outlined their symbolism and Queensland connection.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblems were accidentally revealed online before their planned official unveiling, after the Games’ YouTube channel displayed them in a video preview image. The full designs appeared in the preview for an “Emblem Explainer” video scheduled to go live on Monday. The leak followed a week of partial reveals during a tour of Queensland, where sections of the emblems had been shown in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and the Sunshine Coast.

The image was later removed from YouTube and was reportedly online only until 7:12pm. The designs are inspired by a cockatoo, according to text that was visible in the video description. The description said the bird represented Australia’s wildlife and playful character, while its crest was designed to resemble a living Olympic and Paralympic flame.

The same explanation said the emblem was shaped like Queensland, with its eye directed towards Brisbane. It described the design as a symbol intended to unite Brisbane, Australia and the world for the 2032 Games. The emblems are still due to be formally unveiled in Brisbane on Monday.

A community unveiling is planned for Monday night, following the continuation of the unveiling tour in the city this weekend. Olympics Minister Tim Mander told the Today show that he was excited the emblem was “finally out” and said it would make Brisbane known around the world in connection with the 2032 Games. Asked whether the leak had been planned, Mander did not comment, saying only that it had appeared for a short time and was now available publicly.
