Cyberabad police announce 60-day diversions around Hyderabad junction

Traffic restrictions at Khajaguda Junction in Hyderabad will continue for 60 days to allow water pipeline works, according to an advisory from Cyberabad Traffic Police. The restrictions began on September 26 and affect roads linking the junction with Nanakramguda and surrounding areas. The works involve 900mm and 1,000mm diameter water pipelines.
The service road and free-left movement from KIMS Hospital towards Nanakramguda Road have been closed temporarily. Vehicles approaching from the Biodiversity side cannot take the usual right turn towards Nanakramguda Road. Police have mapped alternative routes for different approaches.
Motorists coming from the Shaikpet flyover are directed to leave the usual route before KIMS Hospital and use Timberlake Colony Road before reconnecting with Nanakramguda Road. Drivers travelling beneath the Shaikpet flyover are advised to use High-Tension Road. The diversion from the Old Mumbai Highway side runs through roads around Malkam Cheruvu and Chitrapuri Colony before joining the Khajaguda-Nanakramguda route.
Vehicles coming from Gachibowli and the Biodiversity Level-1 flyover are directed to take the Pakwan U-turn and continue through Khajaguda Lake Road. The route then leads towards the Khajaguda-Lanco Hills stretch. Cyberabad Traffic Police warned that congestion could build up at and around the junction, particularly as vehicles are diverted onto internal roads.
The police asked motorists to avoid affected approaches where possible and allow additional time for journeys during the works.
