Davido, Rema and Omah Lay announced for Afro Nation Portugal 2027
Davido, Rema and Omah Lay will headline Afro Nation Portugal 2027, alongside Fally Ipupa, at Praia da Rocha in Portimão from June 9 to 11. The festival’s first performer announcement also includes GIMS, Victony and artists across amapiano and Afrotronic stages, with more names expected.
Davido, Rema and Omah Lay will headline the 2027 edition of Afro Nation Portugal, organisers have announced, Channels Television reports. Congolese music star Fally Ipupa is also among the main headliners. The festival is scheduled for June 9 to 11 at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, in Portugal’s Algarve region.
An opening party is planned for June 8, followed by a closing party on June 12. The event is for people aged 18 and over, who must present valid identification. The first wave of performers includes Nigerian artists Omah Lay and Victony, Jamaican singer Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby and Miimii KDS.
GIMS has been announced as a special guest. The Lit Stage will feature the main acts, including Davido, Rema, Ipupa, GIMS, Omah Lay and Victony. The Piano People Stage will focus on amapiano, with Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.
Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA are listed for the Afrotronic Stage. Organisers are expected to announce more artists and festival details. Davido, Rema and Ipupa are returning performers, while Nigeria has maintained a prominent presence at the event since its launch in Portimão in 2019.
Previous Nigerian performers have included Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake and Tems. The 2027 edition is scheduled earlier than recent festivals, which generally took place in July.
