The vehicles were presented to heads of security agencies at the Osuntokun Pavilion, at the Government House grounds in Ado-Ekiti. The governor said the provision was intended to strengthen surveillance, improve mobility and enhance the protection of lives and property.
Oyebanji said the vehicles should lead to increased patrols, greater visibility and faster responses to distress calls. He recalled that his administration had previously supplied patrol vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, bulletproof vests, helmets and other equipment. The governor promised continued financial assistance to security agencies and said the state would keep strengthening its own security institutions.
He commended personnel for their sacrifices and urged them to remain vigilant and professional as political activities and elections approach. Oyebanji also warned against poor maintenance and unprofessional conduct. He called for closer cooperation among agencies, saying none should operate in isolation, and urged the intelligence community to make effective use of available surveillance technology.
He said the latest vehicles were primarily for operations and mobility, as well as for the eventual establishment of the state police outfit.
