Faith-based film Agbara Nla premieres ahead of October cinema release

The Christian film Agbara Nla has premiered in Abuja ahead of its scheduled release in cinemas across Nigeria on October 1, 2026. The premiere on Friday brought together members of the Christian community, guests, cast and production team. Speakers at the event described the film as a production centred on faith, hope and deliverance.

Co-director Damilola Mike-Bamiloye said the cinema release would be the first stage of the film’s distribution. He said the team intended to take it to churches, communities and schools in order to reach a wider audience. “The cinema is the first start.

Then from there, we plan by God’s grace to go to churches, communities, and schools,” Mike-Bamiloye said. He added that the team was targeting at least one million people through the movie, while expressing hope that its reach could be larger. The film’s stated objective, he said, was to communicate its message to as many viewers as possible.

Pastor Philip Olubakin, who appeared in the film, said Agbara Nla could renew people’s interest in God and encourage them to reconnect with their faith. He also said the production would present what he described as the supremacy of the power of Jesus.
