India will face Pakistan in the men’s cricket gold-medal match on the penultimate day of the Asian Games. The Indian schedule also includes a men’s hockey medal match against Malaysia, multiple wrestling bouts, archery and taekwondo events, and competitions in golf, sailing, rugby and volleyball.

India will face Pakistan in the men’s cricket gold-medal match as the Asian Games enters its penultimate day on Saturday. The cricket final is scheduled for 10am, one of two major team events highlighted in India’s programme. The men’s hockey team will later meet Malaysia in a medal match at 3.30pm.

Indian athletes are also scheduled to compete in wrestling, archery, taekwondo, golf, sailing, rugby sevens and volleyball. The Games are due to conclude with the closing ceremony on 4 October. Wrestling provides a major focus, with Aman Sehrawat, Sagar Jaglan, Deepak Punia, Antim Panghal and Manisha Bhanwala scheduled to compete in different stages.

Several bouts could lead to semifinal, bronze-medal or gold-medal contests, depending on earlier results. Archers Kumkum Anil Mohod, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Neeraj Chauhan are scheduled for individual knockout events. Mohod’s programme includes a women’s recurve quarterfinal, followed by possible semifinal and medal matches.

Bommadevara and Chauhan are listed for men’s recurve quarterfinals and potential later rounds. Taekwondo athletes Kashish Malik and Jyoti Yadav are scheduled to compete in the women’s under-57kg and over-67kg categories. Their programme includes round-of-16 bouts, with later quarterfinals, semifinals and medal contests dependent on qualification.

Golf’s final rounds include Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Sharath Urs in the women’s events, while Yuvraj Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat and Saptak Talwar are listed for men’s competition. Sailing, rugby and volleyball also feature in the day’s schedule. India’s women’s rugby team is scheduled for placement matches against Singapore and possible later contests.

The men’s volleyball team faces Thailand in a fifth-place match at 9.30am. The supplied schedule includes numerous events marked as conditional on qualification, meaning the later rounds will depend on athletes’ earlier results.
