JAMB restores admissions platform and sets deadlines for institutions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System, clearing the way for institutions to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session. JAMB announced on Monday that CAPS was fully operational after a temporary disruption. The board asked institutions to accelerate their work to recover lost time and meet the approved admission deadlines.

Public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their admission processes, while private universities have until November 30, 2026, according to the board. JAMB also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly. The system is used in the admissions process, and its restoration allows institutions to proceed with the remaining stages of consideration and placement.

The board separately asked candidates who had been waiting for examination results to upload or verify their credentials. It said the request followed the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results. JAMB said the updates were necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials were available for consideration as institutions intensified their admission exercises.

The board urged candidates, institutions and other stakeholders to use the restored platform and continue working within the approved timelines. JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the interruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
