Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris has approved road projects linking 13 communities across Kalgo and Bunza local government areas. The contract has been awarded to Habib Engineering Construction Company, with an official flag-off ceremony expected soon, the governor said.

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved road projects linking 13 communities across Kalgo and Bunza local government areas. Idris announced the approval on Friday during a condolence visit to residents of Diggi following the death of the community’s district head, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, also known as Dan Galadima Diggi. The governor said the projects were intended to improve connections between the communities and make it easier for people and goods to move between them.

He added that better roads would support economic activity in the areas. The communities listed as beneficiaries are Maidahini, Yarawel, Gerere, Etene, Ketar Fulani, Ketar Hausawa, Gangare, Banganna, Mutubari, Wurogauri, Diggi, Gayi and Unguwar Jeji. Idris said the contract had been awarded to Habib Engineering Construction Company.

He added that an official ceremony to mark the start of construction would take place soon, but did not give a date or disclose the contract value. The governor assured the affected communities that his administration would continue to support projects with a direct impact on residents. He said areas facing pressing infrastructure needs would remain a priority.

Idris also said development projects would continue to be extended to communities across Kebbi State. During the visit, he prayed for the repose of the late district head’s soul and asked Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
