NECO releases 2026 SSCE results as 58.67% secure five credits including English and maths
NECO has released the 2026 SSCE Internal results, reporting that 804,948 candidates earned at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics. Candidates can check online with their registration number and a result-checking token through the official portal.
The National Examinations Council has released the results of its 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination Internal. NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Professor Dantani Wushishi announced the results at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State, Channels Television reports. A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered, while 1,371,992 sat for the examination.
NECO said 804,948 candidates, or 58.67 per cent, obtained at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics. A further 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70 per cent, secured five credits irrespective of those two subjects. The examination was held from June 15 to July 23, 2026, followed by nationwide marking from August 17 to September 4.
NECO recorded 1,406 reported cases of examination malpractice, while 1,334 candidates with special needs participated. Candidates can access their results at results.neco.gov.ng. They need their examination registration number and a valid result-checking token.
The portal allows users to select the examination year and type, enter their details and select “Check my result”. Candidates without tokens can use the portal’s purchase option. NECO advises users to rely on the official website and avoid unofficial services requesting examination information or payments.
The examination was conducted across Nigeria and in six foreign countries.
