Richard Mofe-Damijo makes guest appearance in Netflix’s ‘A Different World’ sequel

Veteran Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has made a guest appearance in Netflix’s sequel series A Different World, extending his work into another international production. Mofe-Damijo, widely known as RMD, plays Mr Chukwu in Episode 7 of the 2026 series. The sequel premiered on Netflix on September 24, 39 years after the original show debuted on NBC in 1987.

The new production returns to the fictional Hillman College, a historically Black college in the United States, but follows a new generation of students. Original cast members Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, Darryl M. Bell and Cree Summer also return.

In the episode, Mr Chukwu Achebe and his Ghanaian wife make a surprise visit to their son, Kojo Achebe, at Hillman. Kojo has told his parents that he is studying engineering, although he is actually pursuing fashion merchandising and entrepreneurship. Kojo is played by Chibuikem Uche, a London-born Nigerian actor who moved to Connecticut as a child.
