Russian airstrikes on the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Odesa injured at least 13 people early Thursday, Ukrainian officials said. The attacks came as the war approaches its fifth winter and amid continued missile and drone strikes across the conflict zone.
In Kyiv, at least 10 people were wounded, officials said on Telegram. The Kyiv City Military Administration issued an air-raid warning and urged residents to move to nearby shelters because of the threat of missile attacks.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said apartment buildings and warehouses were damaged. Debris also fell near a petrol station, according to the mayor. News agencies cited by DW, including Reuters and AFP, reported that witnesses heard strong explosions in the capital.
In Odesa, authorities said at least three people were injured when a Russian strike hit a 19-story apartment building. A child was among those injured, according to the authorities.
