Tamil Nadu announces Rs 50 lakh reward for Asian Games silver medallist Abhay Singh

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced a Rs 50 lakh cash incentive for squash player Abhay Singh after his silver-medal performance at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Abhay, the second seed, was beaten 9-11, 5-11, 5-11 by Malaysia’s defending champion Ng Eain Yow in Sunday’s men’s singles final.

His place in the final had already assured him a medal. Vijay congratulated Abhay in a statement and said the Indian player had brought pride to Tamil Nadu and the country.
