Venkatachalapathy received the Dr. U.Ve. Swaminatha Iyer Award in recognition of his contribution to Tamil history and research.
The ceremony was attended by G. Viswanathan, chairman of the library and chancellor of VIT, and G.V. Selvam, vice-president of VIT.
The event brought together representatives of the library and the educational institution. Prabhakar also released a book on Nannool during the function. Selvam received the first copy of the book.
