Television stars gathered in Los Angeles for the Emmy Awards, the annual ceremony recognising programmes and performances from the past year. The event is being broadcast live from the Peacock Theater, according to BBC News.
Mariska Hargitay, known for her role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, is hosting this year’s ceremony. Among the nominees attending was Colman Domingo, who is recognised for his role in the comedy series The Four Seasons.
Scottish actor Richard Gadd also returned to the red carpet with his new series Half Man. BBC News noted that Gadd’s earlier show, Baby Reindeer, won six Emmys two years ago.
Cailee Spaeny appeared after working on the second season of Beef, for which she is nominated as one of the producers. Carl Clemons-Hopkins, who plays business manager Marcus in Hacks, was also among the stars at the event. The comedy series is described by BBC News as an Emmy favourite.
Other performers highlighted included Lukita Maxwell, whose series Shrinking is competing for best comedy series, and 11-year-old English actor Dexter Sol Ansell. Ansell plays Egg in the Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is nominated for best drama series.
BBC News also reported that Scottish presenter Alan Cumming won outstanding reality show host at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys for the third consecutive year. The main ceremony follows nominations led by The Pitt, while Stranger Things was reported to have been left out of the top categories.
