Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has provided details about Temple, a small wearable designed to sit between the forehead and ear. He said it uses disposable adhesive “Grips”, can be worn while showering or swimming, and measures blood flow to the brain. Pre-orders may begin as early as next week, although pricing remains unclear.

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has released further details about Temple, a small wearable device that sits between the forehead and the ear and is expected to launch soon. Responding to questions from a user on X, Goyal said the device stays attached with single-use adhesive tapes called “Grips”. The purchase price is expected to include an unlimited supply, according to the account.

He said Temple is designed to remain in place during running and jumping and can be worn while showering, using skincare products, applying makeup, swimming and using a sauna. Scuba diving is excluded, although Goyal said that limitation relates to the device rather than the adhesive. A Grip cannot be reused, and users are advised to apply a fresh one whenever the device is removed.

Goyal said one Grip can last about seven days, matching the battery life, while recommending that users change it every two to three days. The device has smooth edges intended to prevent clothing from catching on it. Goyal said users may need about five minutes to become accustomed to wearing it, and described the adhesive as medical grade.

Temple’s central feature is called Brain Flow. It is intended to provide continuous wearable measurements of blood flow to the brain. The supplied material notes that some people remain sceptical because studies shared about the system have not yet been peer reviewed.

The launch edition is expected in six colours: True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. Pre-orders could open as early as next week, with early access available through the Temple website. The price has not been confirmed, although Goyal previously suggested about $1,000.
