Anambra humanitarian forum reports N10m aid and installs new leader

The Unique Fellows All Nations Forum, Awka, has pledged to broaden its support for vulnerable people across Anambra State after reporting that it distributed N10 million in assistance between 2023 and 2026. Kingsley Ezeibe, chairman of the group’s inauguration planning committee and its immediate past deputy mayor, disclosed the figure during a pre-installation event for the incoming mayor, Gabriel Muoneke, in Awka on Saturday. Ezeibe said the forum’s priorities included improving the living conditions of widows, elderly people, orphans, persons with disabilities, inmates, petty traders, artisans, technicians and other underprivileged residents.
He said the organisation, which was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission, was established around 2002 or 2003. He added that it was strengthening its charitable work to reach more vulnerable people and promote social inclusion in communities. Muoneke was elected unopposed in February as the forum’s seventh mayor and has been leading the organisation’s affairs.
He is scheduled to be formally inaugurated, alongside other executive members, on October 3, 2026. Muoneke pledged to introduce programmes focused on residents of Awka and other communities. He said his administration would build on the forum’s existing humanitarian work and seek a wider impact through community-based initiatives.
As part of activities connected with the installation, the forum donated food and other relief items to Shawn Christabel Orphanage Home in Awka on Sunday. The items included tubers of yam, cartons of noodles and bags of rice. Muoneke said the donation was intended to support the children and other vulnerable people at the home.
The organisation’s installation exercise, he added, was part of the group’s activities as the new executives prepare to begin a three-year term. Receiving the items, the orphanage manager, Lady Nnajiofor Ifenyiwa, commended the forum. She promised to pass the gesture on to the home’s management and the orphans.
Ezeibe also urged affluent individuals to support people in need.
