Andhra Pradesh plans teacher recruitment notification within a month

Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has directed officials to issue the DSC 2.0 teacher recruitment notification within a month and maintain transparency through the appointment process. He also reviewed school retention, university vacancies, autism centres and a second phase of the SALT education programme.
Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has directed officials to issue the DSC 2.0 notification within a month and ensure transparency throughout the recruitment process. During a review of the Education Department at his Undavalli residence on Thursday, Lokesh said transparency must extend from publication of the notification to the issue of posting orders to selected candidates. He also directed officials to implement the Mission March programme, which aims to improve results in the Class X public examinations.
The Minister called for a Zero Dropout Mission involving community leaders, linking school dropouts to vulnerability to drug abuse and other social problems. Lokesh asked officials to identify 175 schools, one in each Assembly constituency, and submit proposals to develop them as Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh schools. He also reviewed implementation of the Presidential Order-2025 in the Education Department.
The Minister called for coordinated efforts to fill 1,523 vacant faculty positions in universities. Officials said applications had been completed and that the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission was preparing to conduct a written examination in December. He directed officials to identify land for universities that have shown interest in establishing campuses in the State, including JSS University, Thapar University, UPES, JUS University, Bennett University and Savita University.
Lokesh also ordered preparation for the second phase of the Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation programme, whose first phase is scheduled to conclude in December. He directed officials to speed up the establishment of 125 autism centres. Counsellors had been identified for 21 centres, while civil works at 14 were expected to finish by the end of October.
The review also covered a proposed modern library in Visakhapatnam linked to Andhra University’s centenary celebrations.
