Bebuzee launches all-in-one digital platform in Lagos

A new Nigerian digital platform, Bebuzee, has been unveiled in Lagos, combining social networking, entertainment, streaming, e-commerce and artificial intelligence. Founder Joseph Onyero said the service was designed to reduce the need to move between multiple applications, while regulators urged strong intellectual-property safeguards, licensing and transparent revenue sharing.
Nigerian entertainers, filmmakers and technology stakeholders have gathered in Lagos for the unveiling of Bebuzee, a digital platform combining social networking, entertainment, streaming, e-commerce and artificial intelligence. The launch took place at Four Points by Sheraton and attracted personalities including Patience Ozokwor, Jide Kosoko, Ebele Okaro, Segun Arinze, Zubby Michael, Zeb Ejiro and Paul Obazele. Ozokwor, Okaro, Kosoko, Zubby Michael and Destiny Etiko were announced as brand ambassadors.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Onyero said Bebuzee was developed to address the need for users to move between separate applications for different services. He said the platform offered more than 15 functions within one ecosystem, including shopping and video access. Onyero said the concept dated back to 2004, when he and friends developed an idea for a messaging service that was not eventually activated.
The source material does not state when Bebuzee became available to the public or identify its user numbers, revenue model or technical features beyond the services listed. The Director-General of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Shaibu Husseini, urged digital platforms to prioritise intellectual-property protection, proper licensing and transparent revenue-sharing arrangements. He said the boundaries between television, cinema, mobile phones and digital platforms were becoming increasingly blurred.
Bukola Agbaminoja, executive secretary of the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board, called for stronger cooperation among regulators, technology companies and creative professionals. She said collaboration was needed to address challenges associated with artificial intelligence. The launch therefore combined the platform’s commercial ambitions with calls for clearer protections and accountability in the digital creative economy.
