A ₹41.50-crore residential complex with 128 housing units for Bengaluru police constables was inaugurated near Anand Rao Circle on Thursday. Home Minister Priyank Kharge opened the facility and said providing police personnel with decent housing and a suitable environment for their families was the government’s responsibility. He referred to the risks undertaken by police personnel while serving and protecting society.

The complex was constructed under the Police Gruha 2025 scheme. It consists of two residential blocks, each containing 64 units. Every block has a stilt floor, a ground floor and seven upper floors.

The total built-up area is 11,944.30 square metres. Each 620.31-square-foot unit includes a living room, dining area, two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom-cum-toilet and a utility area. The development includes lifts and parking facilities, as well as a water treatment plant and a sewage treatment plant.

Rainwater harvesting and solar water-heating systems have also been installed. Internal roads, storm-water drains, landscaping, water-supply infrastructure and sewage networks were developed as part of the project. Gandhinagar MLA and former Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, Lok Sabha member P.C.

Mohan, Director General and Inspector General of Police M.A. Saleem and Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh attended the inauguration. The report did not specify how the units would be allocated among constables or when residents would move in.
