Bidar will host a 15-day Agniveer recruitment rally in January 2027, with approximately 12,100 candidates expected to participate, The Hindu reports. Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Sharma announced the expected turnout at a preparatory meeting on arrangements for the event. Candidates are expected to come from Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal and Belagavi districts.

Ms Sharma said the district administration, Police Department and other government departments would provide support to ensure the rally was conducted smoothly. She directed officials to prepare Nehru Stadium for the recruitment process. Planned arrangements include bus services for candidates, medical teams, ambulances, drinking water, barricading, security, internet connectivity, electricity, fire tenders and police deployment.

Colonel Jasveer Singh S.M. of the Army Recruiting Office in Belagavi said between 800 and 1,000 candidates would undergo physical and medical tests each day. He sought the cooperation of the district administration in managing the large number of participants expected during the 15-day programme.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Gitte Madhav Vithal Rao directed officials to clean the stadium and keep it ready for the recruitment process. The report did not provide further details about the application or selection schedule.
