FAAC allocations rise to N3.40tn in June, NBS says

The Federation Account Allocation Committee distributed N3.40 trillion to Nigeria’s federal, state and local governments in June 2026, up from N3.18 trillion in May, according to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The June distribution was about N210.68 billion higher than the previous month. Across May and June, the three tiers received a combined N6.58 trillion through the Federation Account.

The Federal Government received N818.68 billion in June, while the states received N759.14 billion and the 774 local government councils received N534.28 billion. Oil-producing states also received N188.13 billion under the 13 per cent derivation allocation. The June figure included N380.31 billion in statutory allocation and N378.83 billion from Value Added Tax for the states.

Local governments received N293.20 billion in statutory allocation and N241.07 billion from VAT. The Federal Government’s June allocation comprised N749.80 billion in statutory allocation and N68.88 billion from VAT, the NBS data showed. The figures also recorded transfers and deductions for special purposes.

These included N266 billion for the Infrastructure Development Fund for states, N500 billion for the National Security Emergency Fund and N100 billion as a tax refund to the Nigeria Revenue Service. In May, the Federal Government received N787.35 billion, states received N772.36 billion and local governments received N540.15 billion. Oil-producing states received N157.25 billion as derivation revenue.

The May and June figures included a combined N518 billion for the states’ Infrastructure Development Fund. Security-related funds received N750 billion over the two months, comprising N250 billion for the Military Intervention Fund in May and N500 billion for the National Security Emergency Fund in June.
