The 38-year-old woman, a resident of Nalgonda district, told police that she hired the cab at Jadcherla at about 6 p.m. on Saturday to travel to Hyderabad.
According to her complaint, the driver offered to drop her at Gachibowli after reaching Shamshabad in exchange for an additional ₹50. She agreed and continued the journey. After crossing the Tondupally toll gate, the driver allegedly stopped near a medical shop on the Outer Ring Road service road and said he needed to buy medicines.
The woman said the driver later drove towards a deserted stretch near Kothwalguda. At about 9 p.m., the driver allegedly grabbed her bag, which contained ₹60,000, and fled. She subsequently approached the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police.
The police registered a case under Sections 74, 318(4) and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
