India wins two kabaddi golds as Asian Games medal tally reaches 30

India won two gold medals, three silvers and two bronze medals on the seventh day of the 2026 Asian Games, lifting its total to 30 and returning the country to the top 10 in the medal standings. The kabaddi teams supplied both golds. India’s women defeated Iran 37-34, while the men beat the same opponents 40-34 in the final.

The men’s victory was described as especially significant after the disputed final against Iran at the previous Games in Hangzhou. India also reached both squash singles finals. Anahat Singh recovered from two games down to defeat Japan’s world No.

Jyoti Yarraji withdrew from the 100m hurdles because of injury, while Praveen Chithravel left the triple jump final after a hamstring problem. In badminton, PV Sindhu advanced to the quarter-finals, while Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty were eliminated.
