Karnataka officials prepare for Shivakumar’s public grievance session

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will take part in a public grievance programme in Periyapatna taluk on Saturday, where he is expected to receive petitions directly from residents. The programme, organised under the Prajaseva Abhiyana, was discussed at a preparatory meeting in Mysuru on Wednesday.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Yukesh Kumar S. directed officials from all departments to attend personally rather than send subordinate staff. Officials were told to prepare for a large number of petitions and ensure that submissions could be made in an orderly manner.

Mr. Kumar directed the administration to introduce a token system to manage queues. Department-wise stalls are to be established so that residents can submit grievances to the relevant authorities.

The stalls are expected to have computers, printers and other equipment needed to register petitions. Officials were instructed to begin receiving petitions at 8 a.m. Mr.

Kumar also asked the departments to submit details of grievances received and resolved through the district’s Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System. The administration was directed to publicise the programme widely in villages across Periyapatna taluk so that residents are informed about the opportunity to submit complaints and requests.
