The video reportedly showed an inspection of a newly laid road in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Jarnail Singh questioned the road’s quality and pulled portions of its surface away by hand. The man recording the inspection, Saheb Singh, said the minister snatched his phone and struck him while security personnel restrained and pulled him away.
He said he worked on the MLA’s social-media activities. Parvesh Singh said the incident had been presented without context. He alleged that the AAP MLA’s worker had abused his family and accused the MLA of seeking a commission from the road contractor.
He said an FIR would be registered. Police said Saheb Singh had lodged a complaint against the minister at Vikaspuri police station. Kharge also referred to past farmer and Dalit protests in his criticism.
