Makinde appoints elders’ council member and nine other officials

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Pastor Akin Alamu, the immediate past chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, as a member of the state Elders’ Council. The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju. Alamu is also a former member of the Oyo State Advisory Council.

The governor appointed Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing and a board member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation. Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was named Special Adviser on Rural Development. Other appointments listed in letters signed by the governor’s Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, include Yinka Oladoyinbo as Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation.

Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa and Dapo Falade were appointed Senior Special Advisers on Information and Orientation. Seun Adelore was named Senior Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, while Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, a former chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, became Executive Assistant to the Sports Commission.

Ogundele Quadri was appointed Special Assistant on Urban Development. Elder Olawale Olugbenga was named Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism, and Ibrahim Abayomi became Executive Assistant for Works. The statement said all the appointments take immediate effect.

Makinde charged the appointees to perform their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State. The statement did not provide further details about the officials’ specific assignments or the duration of their appointments.
