Makinde names Felix Hyat campaign director-general for 2027 bid
Oyo Governor and Allied Peoples Movement presidential candidate Seyi Makinde has appointed former aviation minister Felix Hyat as director-general of his national campaign management committee. Inna Ciroma and Anthony Aziegbemi were named deputies, alongside directors responsible for mobilisation, communications, finance, security, women, youth and legal affairs.
Oyo State Governor and Allied Peoples Movement presidential candidate Seyi Makinde has appointed former Minister of State for Aviation Felix Hyat as director-general of the National Campaign Management Committee for his 2027 presidential campaign. The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo. Former Minister of Women Affairs Inna Ciroma was named deputy director-general for administration, while Anthony Aziegbemi was appointed deputy director-general for operations.
The campaign organisation said the appointments were intended to assemble experienced political strategists, administrators and mobilisers to promote the APM’s “Reset Nigeria” message nationally. Hyat, a former Kaduna State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, will lead campaign management as the party seeks support for Makinde in the 2027 election. The organisation said his public-service experience and political network would strengthen its national engagement.
Makinde said the campaign leadership would work with APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and other party officials to coordinate the campaign. Several other appointments were announced. Hamza Akuyam Koshe will oversee contact and mobilisation, while Mark Jacob will handle legal and compliance matters.
Ade Adeagbo was named director of administration and strategy, and Richard Ihediwa director of strategic communications. Yusuf Ismaila Alkali was appointed director of finance, with Emmanuel Dennis assigned to volunteers, special interests and support groups. Suleiman Hussaini Kankia will head security and intelligence, Toyin Balogun women’s coordination, Umar Bida Ndabrama monitoring and documentation, and Armstrong Adah youth coordination.
Adeyemi Moyegun was named director of organisation and coordination, while retired Commissioner of Police Babangida Ayuba John became deputy director of security and intelligence. The statement said additional appointments would be announced later and urged APM members and supporters to work towards victory in 2027.
