Ikorodu City shared footage of Obi’s attendance on its X account, welcoming him to the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. The club described the fixture as part of the NPFL’s Matchday Six programme. Obi’s appearance came as the Nigeria Democratic Congress continues preparations for the 2027 general election.
The party said earlier in September that Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, had been authorised to nominate key officials of its Presidential Campaign Council.
