APC youth initiative targets 20 million votes for Tinubu in 2027

A youth organisation within Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress has announced plans to mobilise 10,000 young people in support of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027. The Renewed Hope for Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative, known as RHYDEI, also pledged to pursue 20 million votes for Tinubu across the country’s 774 local government areas. The organisation’s president, Abayomi Odediran, made the commitments at the initiative’s launch in Abuja on Sunday.

He said trained youth ambassadors would be established across the states to explain what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration. Odediran said the group would take its campaign to wards nationwide, naming locations from Sokoto and Borno to Bayelsa and Lagos. He said the organisation was prepared to work for the President’s return.

The planned ambassadors would engage with Nigerians on the streets, in markets and across social media platforms. Odediran said they would defend and promote the administration’s record as part of the mobilisation effort. RHYDEI also said it would work with Federal Government agencies to help at least one million young people benefit from skills-acquisition programmes, grants and loans before the 2027 election.
