Ogun APC candidate targets two million votes for Tinubu

Ogun’s All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Solomon Adeola, says the state will seek at least two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next election. He linked the target to federal projects and interventions, while also announcing claimed oil discoveries and a proposed naval base.
The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Solomon Adeola, says the state will mobilise at least two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next election. Adeola made the pledge on Saturday at the inauguration of the City Boy Movement in Ogun. He said the state had about 3.01 million registered voters and should support Tinubu in recognition of projects and interventions attributed to his administration.
He cited the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, the Sokoto-Badagry road and the rehabilitation of the Sagamu-Benin Expressway as examples of federal infrastructure projects benefiting the state. Adeola said Ogun was among the Nigerian states with the largest registered voter populations. The APC candidate also predicted that the state’s internally generated revenue could reach N1 trillion within a year.
He attributed that expectation to federal infrastructure and development initiatives, without providing further details of the calculation. Adeola further said oil had recently been discovered at Eba and Tongegi in Ogun, and that exploration at Eba would begin shortly. He said Tinubu had approved a naval base in the state to protect infrastructure connected with the reported discovery.
Minister of State for Health Iziaq Salako urged young Nigerians to participate actively in elections. He said youths should take responsibility for the country’s political future and described the federal government’s policies and projects as investments in them. Salako also appealed to residents to support the APC and described Adeola as a youth-friendly candidate.
Earlier, City Boy Movement coordinator Kakorudeen Yusuf said the organisation wanted young people to have a meaningful role in governance. The event was attended by Ogun Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele and other officials.
