PromiseLand said its rechargeable-energy model was intended to reduce dependence on petrol and ease some of the operating-cost pressures faced by drivers. The company’s chief executive, Ambassador Lawrence Oloche, had previously announced plans to empower 1,000 families with new electric vehicles through the initiative.

Passengers will be able to book rides, view trip information and make payments through applications designed for Android and iPhone users. Planned features include driver verification, real-time trip tracking, ratings and reviews, and location-sharing facilities. PromiseLand said drivers would have flexible schedules and be able to manage their availability on the platform.
The company described ProTaxi as part of a wider commitment to technology-driven services, sustainable mobility and economic empowerment. The firm, which also has interests in real estate through PromiseLand Estate, said it hoped eventually to expand the platform beyond Nigeria and contribute to cleaner transport solutions elsewhere in Africa.
