The NRL and NRLW seasons conclude at Stadium Australia on Sunday, with the Sydney Roosters meeting Newcastle in the men’s final and the Roosters facing Brisbane in the women’s decider. Both matches are available on Channel 9 and 9Now, with no Kayo or Fox Sports broadcast.

The NRL and NRLW seasons conclude on Sunday, October 4, with both grand finals being played at Stadium Australia in Sydney. The men’s decider pits the Sydney Roosters against the Newcastle Knights, while the women’s final is a rematch between the Roosters and Brisbane Broncos. The men’s match is the only NRL game of the season available exclusively on Channel 9 and 9Now, according to ABC News Australia.

It will not be shown on Kayo or Fox Sports. ABC Sport is also providing radio coverage and a live blog. The Roosters finished fourth in the regular season and lost their opening finals match before beating Cronulla and the Dolphins.

They then defeated the Canberra Raiders in last week’s preliminary final. Newcastle finished seventh. The Knights beat South Sydney in the first week of the finals, travelled to Auckland to defeat the Warriors and then overcame Penrith despite playing the entire second half with 12 players.

In the NRLW, the Roosters completed an undefeated 11-match regular season before beating Canberra in the preliminary final. Their campaign recalls their 2025 season, when they also remained unbeaten until losing last year’s decider to Brisbane. The Broncos finished third after an 8–3 home-and-away record.

They endured a three-match losing run during the season but entered the final after five straight victories, including a preliminary-final win over the Gold Coast Titans. The grand finals are being held on the first day of daylight saving time in many Australian states and territories. Stadium Australia has hosted every NRL grand final since 1999 except the 2021 match, which was moved to Brisbane during the COVID-19 pandemic.
