Sangam Dairy targets ₹2,500 crore turnover with expansion plans

Sangam Dairy is targeting a turnover of ₹2,500 crore, up from its current level of about ₹2,260 crore, chairman Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar said on Monday. Addressing the dairy’s 13th annual general body meeting in Guntur, he said the company’s focus would include farmer welfare, product quality, technology and expansion. Daily milk procurement had reached 8.70 lakh litres, compared with a peak of 10.50 lakh litres last year.
The dairy plans to establish 10 more chilling and milk-collection centres by December. It also intends to connect collection centres and farmers digitally, allowing producers to access information on collection, fat, solid-not-fat content and the value of their milk through a society application. The company will strengthen preventive veterinary services, including measures involving 570 cattle and efforts to facilitate conception in 320 animals.
It will provide a 50% subsidy for loose housing and distribute ₹2,500 calf kits for calves born through sexed semen, with more than 2,000 kits planned this year. Fifty-six people have been trained as Pashumithras, while the dairy is providing a subsidy of ₹1 per kilogram on silage. The company has so far extended ₹18 lakh in such assistance.
In Telangana, milk procurement has reached 30,000 litres a day. Sangam Dairy plans to double the capacity of its Miryalaguda plant to three lakh litres a day. A new plant is planned at Naidupeta on 25 acres.
It is expected initially to process two lakh litres a day and is scheduled to commence operations within a year, according to the chairman.
