Karnataka Industries Minister M.B. Patil says CapitaLand Investment and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres are considering larger operations in the State. CapitaLand is developing a 42 MW facility in Bengaluru, while STT GDC is investing about ₹5,000 crore in a 100 MW campus at Devanahalli.

Singapore-based companies have indicated plans to expand their data-centre operations in Karnataka, according to State Industries Minister M.B. Patil, who is visiting Singapore to attract investment. Mr.

Patil said CapitaLand Investment, a Singapore-based real asset manager, was interested in increasing its data-centre capacity in Karnataka. The company is already developing a 42 MW facility at International Tech Park Bengaluru with an investment of approximately ₹2,000 crore. He also said ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, or STT GDC, had expressed interest in expanding its presence in the State.

The company operates 34 data centres across 10 cities, with more than 613 MW of IT capacity, including three facilities in Bengaluru. According to the Minister, STT GDC is investing around ₹5,000 crore to develop a 100 MW data-centre campus on land belonging to the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board in Devanahalli. Mr.

Patil said Karnataka and Singapore could deepen cooperation in high-value industries beyond data infrastructure. He identified aerospace and defence, semiconductors, aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul, and other advanced sectors as areas with scope for further collaboration. These opportunities were discussed with Gan Siow Huang, Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, he said.

Further work would be pursued through the Invest Karnataka Forum and the Singapore Enterprise Centre in Bengaluru. The Karnataka government has also invited Singapore to participate as a partner country at the Global Investor Meet 2027, scheduled to be held next year. Mr.

Patil’s visit is focused on attracting investment and building commercial links between the State and Singapore. The announcements indicate continuing interest in Karnataka’s digital infrastructure sector, particularly in Bengaluru and Devanahalli. The figures cited by the Minister concern proposed or ongoing investments and do not establish when any additional capacity would become operational.
