Telangana has issued fresh orders revising police jurisdictions across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, nine months after creating a four-commissionerate structure. The changes add zones and divisions, realign traffic and specialist wings, and seek to reduce overlaps with municipal and administrative boundaries.

The Telangana government has issued new orders revising police jurisdictions across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, following a broader reorganisation that created four commissionerates in December 2025. The September 30 orders modify boundaries, create a new Law and Order zone and divisions, and realign traffic, Women Safety and cyber units. The review followed implementation problems and uncertainty over territorial limits after the earlier restructuring.

Officials said the latest exercise aims to bring police commissionerate boundaries closer to municipal areas. The review also considered revenue divisions, court jurisdictions, anticipated urban expansion, population growth, territorial continuity, crime patterns and local policing requirements. The largest structural changes affect Malkajgiri.

A new Uppal Law and Order Zone has been created, with Alwal, Uppal and Medipally constituted as new Law and Order divisions. A new Uppal Traffic Division will bring together the Uppal, Kushaiguda and Ghatkesar traffic police stations. The orders also settle several local boundaries.

Secunderabad Railway Station will remain under Gopalapuram police station, while Addagutta ward will remain with Tukaramgate. Parts of Hastinapuram and B.N. Reddy Nagar that were earlier under Meerpet will move to Vanasthalipuram.

Begumpet, Tirumalagiri and Gopalapuram traffic police stations will shift from Hyderabad City Police to Malkajgiri. Hyderabad’s changes are mainly internal. The Khairatabad area will be reorganised into Khairatabad-I and Khairatabad-II zones, with related redistribution of stations and divisions.

Traffic, Women Safety and zonal cyber structures are also being aligned. Residents can check the police website to identify the station covering their neighbourhood.
