Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner Temi Nkem has received the cash and vehicle included in her ₦160 million prize package. The 21-year-old said she plans to invest much of the money, complete her university education, support her parents and reserve some funds for personal enjoyment after winning the “Show Ya Sef” edition.

Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner Temi Nkem has taken delivery of the ₦90 million cash component and a Hyundai SUV included in her ₦160 million prize package, following her victory in the reality television show’s “Show Ya Sef” edition. The handover took place on Tuesday at the MultiChoice studio in Lagos, two days after Nkem won the competition’s grand finale, according to Channels Television. Representatives of the programme’s sponsors presented the vehicle and a ₦90 million cheque to the 21-year-old, who later posed for photographs with the SUV and its keys.

Nkem won with 25.87 per cent of the final votes. Aikou finished as first runner-up with 23.68 per cent, while Sheba placed third with 9.80 per cent. Her victory made her the fifth female winner in Big Brother Naija history, following Mercy Eke, Phyna, Ilebaye and Imisi, Channels reported.

The prize package was officially valued at ₦160 million and included the cash award, the SUV and other sponsored prizes. Premium Times reported that the cash prize was reduced from an initially announced ₦100 million after ₦10 million was allocated to the season’s Most Influential Player of the Week fund. Speaking to Premium Times at the prize presentation, Nkem said she had begun considering how to allocate the money before leaving the house.

She said she would invest “a very big sum” because of her background in Accounting and Finance and an additional degree in Treasury, with the aim of making the money grow. Nkem also said she intended to return to university and complete her studies. She plans to give some of the money to her parents, while keeping part of it for herself, including several holidays and what she described as “a little treat” after her 70-day stay in the reality show.

The London-born Nigerian told Premium Times that she had not expected to win, partly because she had heard that contestants who came from abroad rarely prevailed in the programme. Rather than allowing that perception to define her campaign, she said she decided to enjoy the experience and remain herself. Her win, she added, should encourage young Nigerians not to assume their background limits their prospects.

Nkem also described her conduct in the house as largely spontaneous rather than a carefully constructed performance. She estimated that 30 per cent of what viewers saw was strategy and 70 per cent reflected her genuine personality and curiosity. She acknowledged, however, that she tried not to make other housemates view her as a threat.

Channels described her season as a 10-week competition involving 24 housemates and marked by evictions, alliances, confrontations, romance and twists. The report highlighted her survival through repeated nominations, a fake eviction, BB Bucks drama and her relationships with fellow contestants as elements of her route to the final. For Nkem, one of the defining moments was winning the betPawa Friday Night Arena Game.

She told Premium Times that she had entered simply to participate and perform well, without expecting to win, and that the result changed her view of what she could achieve in the house. After the finale, she thanked God, her family, voters and her supporters, known as the “Teminators,” for helping secure the title.
