Asked whether she would accept another wife if the Olu changed his position, the Queen said she believed he would not do so.
She added jokingly that she was “like three women” and said she was comfortable with the arrangement. She also acknowledged that sharing the monarch’s time could sometimes be difficult because of the demands of his position. The Queen said the couple was learning to manage the responsibilities connected with his role.
She also said she wanted him for herself, making clear that she supported his decision to remain in a monogamous marriage. The Olu had addressed the issue earlier in the year.
