Andhra Pradesh reports no active COVID-19 cases, minister says

Andhra Pradesh has no active COVID-19 cases after recording no new infection since August 25, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said on Saturday. In a statement, Yadav said health authorities had tested 1,086 samples across the State between June 24 and September 25. The 94-day period produced 78 positive results, while 74 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

The minister said no COVID-19 cases were recorded on 66 of the 94 days under review. He also said there had been no cluster outbreaks anywhere in Andhra Pradesh during the period. The figures indicate that the State’s reported cases during the review period were limited and that patients who tested positive had either recovered or were no longer classified as active cases, according to the minister’s statement.

Yadav said health authorities would continue to monitor the situation closely. The statement did not identify any new measures or restrictions in response to the reported position. The update was issued from Vijayawada on Saturday and covered testing and case outcomes through September 25.

It did not provide further details about the patients who tested positive, including their locations or the circumstances of their infections.
