Armani collection blends signature elegance with crystal accents in Milan

Silvana Armani presented her spring-summer collection in Milan on Sunday, a year after the death of the fashion house’s founder, Giorgio Armani. The collection combined the label’s established elegance with a stronger use of crystals, sequins and lamé. Black-and-white dresses and ensembles moved down the runway at the company’s headquarters, where Giorgio Armani had been laid in state in September 2025.

Several designs featured plunging necklines, some extending to the navel. A garment carried multiple images of the late designer, while the crystals and reflective fabrics caught the light from a disco ball above the runway. Silvana Armani, Giorgio Armani’s niece, said the luminous details expanded elements already present in his eveningwear.

She said the additions were intended to underline the fluidity and lightness of the silhouettes. The designer, who worked alongside her uncle for four decades, received prolonged applause at the end of the show. In an interview with Vogue, she said the clothes were intended for a self-assured woman who feels comfortable in what she wears.

She also said she did not want to imitate Giorgio Armani, but sought to resemble him. One change she introduced was the removal of hats, explaining that her uncle liked them while she did not and had therefore allowed herself to alter the rules. Emporio Armani, the group’s second brand, presented its final mixed collection by Leo dell’Orco and Silvana Armani on Wednesday.

That collection used a weathered, seawater-and-wind effect, including salt crystals reproduced on jackets and brooches. Milan’s fashion schedule will be followed by Paris on Monday, with collections from Dior, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Carven due to be presented.
