Orange alerts were issued for Dehradun, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Almora. Yellow alerts were issued for Haridwar, Uttarkashi and Tehri on the same day. The varying alerts reflect the different levels of expected rainfall across the state.
For Sunday, red alerts were forecast for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Haridwar. Orange alerts covered Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Nainital and Rudraprayag, while yellow alerts were issued for Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh. District administrations have been instructed to implement the commissioner’s decision locally.
