Former Big Brother Naija housemate Ikechukwu Okonkwo, known as Cross, has alleged that a street beggar tore a chrome trim from his car while he was driving in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos State. Cross made the allegation in a video posted on his X account on Wednesday. He said a group of beggars approached his vehicle as it moved through the area.
According to Cross, one of the men began speaking to him through the window. He said he did not refuse the man’s request before the individual suddenly pulled off part of the car and ran away. “Federal government, I just got robbed,” Cross said in the video, describing the incident as a theft.
He added that he got out of the vehicle and chased the suspect but could not catch him after the man disappeared into traffic. Cross also expressed frustration about street safety and questioned why the beggars were allowed to operate on the road. “Nigeria is not safe,” he said, appealing to the Federal Government over what he described as the situation in Lagos.
The allegation has prompted online discussion about complaints from motorists in Lekki and other busy areas.
