Food safety officials inspect Vijayawada night food court and urge hygiene

Food Safety department officials conducted surprise inspections at Eat Street, a night food court in Vijayawada, late on Tuesday. The teams were led by P. Arun Babu, Director General of DCA and Food Safety.

They inspected food stalls and checked the quality of items being displayed and sold to the public. Officials examined vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, snacks, ice creams and flavoured milk. Fast-food makers, biryani outlets, roadside eateries, tiffin centres, snack vendors and soft-drink sellers operate there. The food court’s vendors sell different varieties of food between 10 p.m. and midnight every day, according to the source material.
