Fury predicts seven-round stoppage of Joshua in Cardiff fight

Tyson Fury has predicted that he will stop Anthony Joshua within seven rounds when the two British heavyweights meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11. Speaking on the Furocity YouTube channel, Fury said he expected to dominate the fight and described Joshua as a stepping stone towards a possible third bout with Oleksandr Usyk. “I’m going to box the head off him and stop him inside six or seven rounds,” Fury said.

He also claimed that Joshua lacked the speed and stamina to trouble him. Fury’s comments followed confirmation that the long-awaited all-British fight would take place in Cardiff. Negotiations between the two camps had broken down several times before the announcement.

The former heavyweight champion said he wanted another fight with Usyk, who beat him twice on points in 2024. Fury claimed he had deserved victory in those contests and said he would prefer a future meeting with Usyk in the United States. Despite his criticism of Joshua, Fury said he would accept the result.

He said both men would enter the ring to fight and that he would shake Joshua’s hand whether he won or lost. Fury also referred to Joshua’s decision not to take part in a face-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier in the year. He said he had doubted the fight would ever happen, making its confirmation particularly significant for him.

The bout brings together two of Britain’s leading heavyweight names after years of stalled discussions. Fury said Joshua should arrive prepared, while urging both fighters to remain focused in training.
