Heirs Insurance Group has launched Prince AI, a generative artificial intelligence assistant available through WhatsApp, its mobile app and website. The tool can answer insurance questions, support policy purchases and renewals, and initiate claims, while human representatives remain available for customers needing personalised assistance.

Heirs Insurance Group has launched Prince AI, a generative artificial intelligence assistant intended to help customers obtain insurance information and carry out selected policy transactions. The insurer said the service is available through WhatsApp, the SimpleLife Mobile App and the Heirs Insurance website. It can respond to questions about insurance products, coverage and policy options, as well as provide general guidance on customers’ potential insurance needs.

Prince AI also supports transactions, according to the company. Customers can use it to purchase or renew policies, begin the claims process and obtain updates on claims that have already been submitted. Heirs Insurance said the assistant can communicate in English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese, among other languages.

The company presented the multilingual capability as a way of making its services more accessible to customers who prefer languages other than English. Peace Okhianmhense-Philips, the group’s Chief Digital Officer, said Heirs Insurance was using generative AI to make customer interactions faster and simplify access to insurance information. She described the launch as part of the company’s wider digital transformation programme.

The insurer said Prince AI uses adaptive intelligence to improve its responses through user interactions. However, it did not provide performance data or specify the safeguards used to assess the accuracy of its answers. Heirs Insurance said customers would still be able to speak with human representatives when they needed personalised assistance or more detailed explanations.

The stated model combines automated responses for routine requests with human support for situations requiring individual attention. The company has integrated Prince AI into its existing digital channels rather than requiring customers to download a separate platform. The launch comes as Heirs Insurance Group approaches its fifth anniversary and continues to invest in digital tools aimed at expanding access to insurance.
