The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Alumni Association says 267 alumni have contributed ₹20.11 lakh for an IIMB student seriously injured in a road accident. The fundraising appeal exceeded its initial target of ₹18 lakh, while the student remains in hospital.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Alumni Association says its community has raised ₹20.11 lakh to support an IIM Bangalore student who was seriously injured in a road accident. The association shared an appeal for financial assistance with alumni on the morning of September 25, with an initial fundraising target of ₹18 lakh. According to a statement from IIMBAA, 267 alumni contributed to the appeal.

The final amount exceeded the target by ₹2.11 lakh. The association said the response brought together alumni from different generations at a time when one of the institute’s members needed support. It described the fundraising effort as evidence of the strength of the IIMB community.

“I am proud to see IIMBAA becoming a real community, one where people come together to help each other when it matters,” IIMBAA president Harish Mittal said in the statement. The student remains in serious condition and is receiving treatment at Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru, the association said.
