The former emir was travelling to attend a Qur’anic school graduation ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. at Balarabe Adamu Litahafizul Qur’an Wadirasatul Islammiyya in the Yakasai area. The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, said the restriction followed an emergency meeting of the State Security Council at the Government House.
The council reviewed the security situation surrounding the planned activities and directed security agencies to enforce the order. The government said security assessments indicated significant mobilisation by supporters connected with the activities. It said the suspension was intended to prevent a possible confrontation, preserve public order and avoid loss of life or damage to property.

Ado-Bayero operates from the Nassarawa mini-palace under federal security protection and is challenging his removal in court.
