Niger Delta Development Commission Executive Director Ifedayo Abegunde has urged young people and other stakeholders in the region to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. He said the administration’s reforms should be consolidated and announced an empowerment initiative for 50 youths.
The Executive Director of Corporate Services at the Niger Delta Development Commission, Ifedayo Abegunde, has urged youths and other stakeholders in the Niger Delta to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Abegunde said Tinubu deserved a second term because, in his view, the administration’s economic reforms were beginning to produce positive results. His comments were contained in a statement issued on Saturday by his media aide, Yusuf Olamide.
He spoke on Wednesday at a reception in Arogbo community, in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The event followed his conferment with a traditional chieftaincy title by the Agadagba of Arogbo Kingdom, Zacchaeus Egbunu. Abegunde called on Nigerians to continue supporting Federal Government policies intended to improve living conditions.
He also urged young people in the Niger Delta and other parts of the country to participate actively in the political process and vote for Tinubu in 2027. He described youth development as important to the sustainable development of the region. At the event, he unveiled an empowerment initiative providing N50,000 to 50 youths in the Niger Delta community.
Egbunu had earlier conferred the titles of Ebitelemowei and Ebitelemoere of Arogbo Kingdom on Abegunde and his wife, Olajumoke Abegunde, respectively. He praised the NDDC director’s humility, commitment to public service and leadership. The monarch also urged Abegunde to continue contributing to the development of the Niger Delta.
